If you are heading to Shirakawago from Osaka and Kyoto area, Washokuju- sakura would be a great halfway point to stay.

On 30th Jan. I had guests Leo and his mother from China.
They stopped at Washokuju Sakura on the way to Shirakawago from Osaka by rental car. They spend  a night and went shopping at Don Quijote where you can find almost anything. They arrived late at night but he told me that it was easy to access. I had a great time with them talking about Japanese garbage system, this year's Chinese Zodiac, and so on.  I was glad to hear they enjoyed staying here! Hope to see them again! Thank you Leo and mom!

How to get to Washokuju-Sakura from Chubu Centrair International Airport? Part 1

One of the most frequently asked questions is about transportation. So here's How to get to Washokuju-Sakura from Chubu Centrair International Airport! There are many ways from Chubu Centrair International Airport to Sekiguchi station which is closest to Washokuju-Sakura, I recommend below 2 ways. 1)Train (Meitetsu Line)+Train(JR)+Train(Nagaragawa Railroad) : approx 2 hours 2)Train(Meitetsu Line) + Bus(Gifu Bus): approx 2 hours In this blog, I would introduce the 1) way. 1)<Train (Meitetsu Line)>   Chubu Centrair International Airport to Shin-Unuma station, walk to JR Unuma-station  <Train(JR)> Unuma station to Mino-Oota station <Train(Nagaragawa Railroad)> Mino-Oota station to Sekiguchi station Part1 is from Chubu Centrair International Airport to Shin-Unuma by train. "Reiwa" new era started! This is how Washokuju Sakura celebrate.

We had a long holiday from the end of Apr. to May 6th. On April 30th, the day the Emperor of Japan abdicate. And May 1st, the Crown Prince is due to be throned. Heisei era was over, and a new era called "Reiwa" began. The ceremonies at the Imperial Palace are very serious, quiet and mysterious.  We can watch it on TV. The cities all over Japan are full of events of being thankful for an old era and Emperor and celebratory of a new era and Emperor. In Washokuju Sakura, of course I made Osechi to celebrate this new era! Osechi is for celebration. Hoping Reiwa era would be full of happiness and peace. During this long holiday, I had 3 guests from China, Indonesia and Osaka from Japan. I had great holiday with them! I will introduce about them later. <Japanese Cooking class & Home stay "Washokuju Sakura"> We offer Japanese New Year cooking lessons  "Any Time New Year" program  every day!
